STARSAILOR WITH STRINGS: LIVERPOOL SETLIST AND REVIEWS
Thank you, Liverpool! Saturday’s shows at the Tung Auditorium with Joe Duddell and the Up North Session Orchestra were a special way to start our 25th anniversary year.
We’ve loved hearing your comments on social media following the shows - it’s great to read that everybody who came along also enjoyed themselves!
At The Barrier have the first review of the show, with their writer noting:
“As Telling Them concludes, James has a big smile on his face. ‘Thank you Liverpool; we’ve got through the first few songs so the nerves are settling,’ he says. The smile is wholly justified. Every player on the stage looks like they’re having a blast. Starsailor really demonstrate what well crafted songs, hard work, and dedication can achieve. The fact that they sound this good, have such super songs and a clear humility is a testament to their longevity. If you have lost touch with this band, rekindle your interest and go check them out later this year.”
Here’s the setlist for both shows:
ALCOHOLIC / WAY TO FALL / TELLING THEM / POOR MISGUIDED FOOL / WHERE THE WILD THINGS GROW / HARD LOVE / SHE JUST WEPT / RESTLESS HEART / BRING MY LOVE / LULLABY / TELL ME IT'S NOT OVER / SILENCE IS EASY / HANGING IN THE BALANCE (WITHOUT STRINGS) / LOVE IS HERE (WITHOUT STRINGS) / TIE UP MY HANDS (WITHOUT STRINGS) // JEALOUS GUY / FOUR TO THE FLOOR / GOOD SOULS
The matinee show marked the first-ever full band performance of Hard Love, taken from the Where The Wild Things Grow album, plus only the second performance of Hanging In The Balance. She Just Wept was played for the first time since September 2022, while we last performed Jealous Guy as a full band nearly 20 years ago!
Couldn’t make it to Liverpool? We’ve got a busy year ahead, featuring several UK festivals before a nine-date UK Tour in November. Click here for tickets.
